Onondaga Lake is a dimictic , hypereutrophic (excessive growth of aquatic plants), hardwater, alkaline lake located in the upstate region of New York State, USA. It has been described as “the dirtiest lake in the United States”. A more detailed description of the lake and the Seneca River may be found on the Our Lake website.
